Submitting a website to search engines and screating a sitemap?

I have completed a website and I am going to submit it to google very soon.

I should use meta tags correct? How should I make those? should I just use a generator.

What about sitemaps? I read about those on the google submission page.

How would I create one of these in Dreamweaver CS3?

Is there anything else I need to do?

Google actually provides a page on how their search engine %26quot;sort of%26quot; works. It%26#039;s pretty secretive so you can%26#039;t really cheat. A lot of what you read on the internet is out dated, such as meta tags, yes they are good, but they don%26#039;t have the power they used to.

i really sympathise with you,i was where you are right now.

i know something about computers and after much effort, all i learned was that everyone else is as much in the dark as i was,i got no where.

recently i learned of something new and i hope you will not mind if i recommend it to you, because with it you do not need a website or anything else.

this brand new company does something very unique and special.

they build your business for you,all the way.

first of all, there is no selling, even if you want to.

they give you an organisation of people and then they pay you regularly for that organisation.

all you do is sit back and enjoy the ride.

no one fails,

the company makes you succeed by there actions.

Reply:Yes there is something else you can do

Don%26#039;t submit to Google

I am serious. Let Google find you instead

You will get indexed faster that way

how do you get Google and the other search engines to come to you?

I use article submissions with an article directory {Strongly recommend ezinearticles}

Include a link to your site in your biobox

When the search engine bot crawls your article displayed on the ezinearticles site, it follows the link in your biobox and comes to your site

Also find a high traffic forum and join. Participate in the forum and add a link in your signature to your site.

Again a visiting bot will find your link and crawl your site.

With regards to generating a sitemap, do a google search. there are loads of free sitemap generating services online

One of my sites http://www.affiliatemarketingintro.com gives you more website related tips. Also you can take a look to confirm I have a clue what I am talking about
Reply:Yes, you can generate metatags online. You can also generate xml site maps and such to let crawlers access your site a little easier. I%26#039;d create an additional HTML sitemap that looks like your main page but with links and categories of your pages. Check http://directorix.net/sitemap.html for a simple example. Also check out the articles for other DIY SEO tips and submit your site for a free link when it%26#039;s published! Hope this helps.
Reply:There are a range of meta tags, only a few of which are relevant to spiders. Two of the most well-known meta tags are the meta description and meta keywords; unfortunately these are ignored by most major search engines, including Google. Google has, in their Webmaster Help Center, a Creating and Submitting Sitemaps page

Reply:Hi,

There are many ways to market a small business on the web. You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC. However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.

This portal is giving away a free business card holder for lising your business (I got mine a few days ago in the mail). If you want to know about some other portals, just let me know.
